Throwing together a look last minute can be stressful, but this simple outfit is made up of things most of us can find in our closet.
If you follow me, you should know by now that I am obsessed with bodysuits. Perhaps it’s the 90s child in me ( I had a few back then as well), but I live in them. A bodysuit can be so incredibly versatile while piecing together different looks for day or night. Whether, you’re pairing them with shorts, skirts or jeans, bodysuits are flattering on any body type. This bodysuit by Privacy Please is so well made that I own it in multiple colors. A tip for those trying to figure out your size, I recommend sizing down. Most bodysuits do stretch and are meant to fit tightly to hug your curves.
If you don’t own a bodysuit, this look can also be achieved by wearing a one piece bathing suit (great for those beach days) or a tank top. As for my denim shorts, I ended up splurging quite a bit on these this past spring. Even though, I bought them on sale, I still paid a hefty price but the material and fit are such great quality that I felt they were totally worth the price. To all my ladies out there who find it incredibly difficult to find the perfect pair of denim cutoffs, it’s really about experimenting with different lengths. Not all of are are 14 anymore, so I am going to be honest and let you know that I tend to be a little insecure about my thighs ( aren’t we all). After trying on several pairs, a loose boyfriend cut was the perfect match for me. This style addsthe perfect amount of coverage for me without making me feel like I was letting it all hang out.;)
Last but not least, can we talk about my shades? I mean hello rockstar! Free People has so many cute styles to choose from right now that I am quickly turning into a sunglass collector. Priced around $20-25 dollars each, it’s hard not to buy them all, but these babies were perfect for the holiday!
Hope you are all enjoying this long holiday weekend. Have a safe and happy 4th of July!! xoxo
