When you can’t decide on what color to wear, you wear them all! When it comes to mixing patterns and prints, we are definitely taking a fashion risk, but to be safe here are few style tips to keep in mind.

1. STAY IN THE SAME COLOR FAMILY.  Using one or more colors from a similar color palette will help coordinate your pieces together while also helping the other colors blend better.

2. BALANCE OUT YOUR PATTERN SIZE.  In order for your patterns to perfectly offset each other, you want to mix up your pattern sizes. For example, you can see that I chose a more scattered floral print up top and paired it with a much busier print on the bottom. This can also work for stripes and floral prints…and colorful plaids and gingham.

3. HAVE FUN WITH ACCESSORIES TOO. For this outfit, I chose to keep my accessories more basic when it came to color, but if you are just starting out, start out small by mixing in bold accessories such as floral print sandals or bags. Both are really on trend this season!

4. START WITH THE BASICS. Still scared? Dive in by starting out with a black and white striped tee. Stripes go with almost anything…and pairing it with a fun floral skirt could start a beautiful relationship with pattern play.
